Schut paper has been available with different options and weights for watercolor, acrylic, drawing and sketch since 1618. High-quality paper for the right effect from 90 grams of sketching notepads to 360 grams of acrylic paper with the perfect surface. Schut makes paper for the artists with passion and strives for the best quality. With an eye for the environment, Schut produces paper for every artist in Gelderland. More than 400 years ago they started with a paper mill in the Veluwe, which through the course of circumstances has managed to develop into today's Schut Papier. Schut is FSC and PEFC certified through 1440 solar panels, biodiversity and ecosystems Captain for the Dutch business community. Schut Papier is part of the French Exacompta Clairefontaine S.A. as an independently operating paper mill.

Schut's history since the Golden Age:

• 1618: Paper factory "De Veentjes" is founded in Heelsum, a watermill with paper factory.
• 1710: The factory is sold to the Schut family, which focuses on the production of quality paper.
• 1895: The factory burns to the ground. A new factory is being built where steam-driven machines take over the function of the water mill.
• 1977: The last member of the Schut family takes over the factory.
• 1982: The shares in the paper factory are transferred by the Schut family to De Gelderse Papiergroep NV. This immediately entails the production of the authentic and world-famous "Van Gelder Oud Hollands": a series of obsolete letters and envelopes with scoop edges, with and without watermark.
• 1998: Papierfabriek Schut B.V. becomes part of the French group Exacompta Clairefontaine S.A. Within this group, Schut Papier can do business with a high degree of independence.
• 2013: Schut paper factory gets a new look! The name is changed to Schut Papier and the old house style has been replaced by a new, contemporary house style. The logo represents the four largest product groups through the four colors: yellow for artist paper, green for business papers, orange for colored paper and purple for the technical and custom papers. The quality, craftsmanship and great diversity of product options have remained the same, but it is a new appearance that represents a company that is progressive and constantly evolving.
